Programs for Schools

For K-3 students I have a program called, "What If...  The game writers get to play."  I also talk about the writing process using a chick hatching from an egg as an analogy.  A good length is 40 minutes.

For older students, I have a 45-60 minute slide presentation about myself, where I get my ideas, the process involved in writing a book, and the need for revision, patience and tenacity.  I conclude by showing slides that excite students' imaginations and make them want to write stories of their own.  Teachers have reported students begging to have time to write following this presentation.  I could also do a writing workshop for students.

Programs for Adults

Writing for Young People is a one-hour presentation including techniques and tips on how to get published.  Life as an Author is informational and includes humorous anecdotes.

Fee
$100 to $500.  $.32 per mile and/or airfare and motel expenses if necessary.
